Big Trash Animals is a series of artworks that aims to draw attention to a current problem that is likely to be forgotten, become trivial or a necessary evil. The problem involves waste production, materials that are not reused, pollution and its effect on the planet. The idea is to depict nature itself, in this case animals, out of materials that are responsible for its destruction. These works are built with end-of-life materials: the majority found in wastelands, abandoned factories or randomly and some are obtained from companies that are going through a recycling process. Damaged bumpers, burnt garbage cans, tires and appliances are just some of the objects that can be identified when you go into detail. They are camouflaging the result of our habits with little ecological and social awareness. » Bordalo II Website » Bordalo II Facebook » Bordalo II […]Where the „comic book font“ came from // Mini-Doku zu Comic Sans und Co.
So…why does all the writing in comic books look like that? Vox’s Phil Edwards looked into it and found an aesthetic shaped by comics culture, technology, and really cheap paper.
Im Vergleich dazu ist mein täglicher Arbeitsweg geradezu ein Witz – so voll sind die Öffentlichen in München nicht mal zum Oktoberfest ;) Die Fotografie von Michael Wolf behandelt vor allem das urbane Leben in Großstädten – ein Besuch seiner Website lohnt sich auch wegen zahlreichen weiteren, tollen Fotoserien wie Architecture of Densitiy, Night, The box men of Shinjuku station, Transparent City und und und… michael wolf lives in hong kong born munich, germany the focus of the german photographer michael wolf’s work is life in mega cities. many of his projects document the architecture and the vernacular culture of metropolises. wolf grew up in canada, europe and the united states, studying at uc berkeley and at the folkwang school with otto steinert in essen, germany. he moved to hong kong in 1994 where he worked for 8 years as contract photographer for stern magazine. since 2001, wolf has been focusing on his own projects, many of which have been published as books. The client from hell // (Web)design Kunden im alltäglichen Leben
Every designer knows that one client who wants them to do a lot of work for no pay (or for „exposure“). We took our hidden cameras to London to see how other businesses would react to some of the ridiculous requests designers have to deal with.
