The Traveller // Photo Series by Maximilian Motel

Die Serie „The Traveller“ des Berliner Fotografen Maximilian Motel verbindet die Panoramas einer Reise nach Havana/Cuba mit einem Astronauten, welchen er in einem Studio in Berlin aufgenommen hat. This project combines background plates shot in Havana, Cuba and the space suit shot in studio in Berlin, Germany. Special thanks to Mo-Postproduction for the cooperation, Philipp Pohl & Sebastian Sellner for assisting and my Dad for standing in. Angelehnt an Street Photography, zeigt Dino Falduto in der Fotoserie „Miami from the backseat“ Alltagsszenen aus Florida fernab von typischen Touristen-Broschüren durch die Heckscheibe eines Autos. Er schreibt dazu in seinem Tumblr Blog: Far from the Miami of Will Smith, retired Jews and Cocaine Cowboys, I wanted to show the city where we spent more time in the shade of its hood looking for a parking spot than under the Florida sunshine, cocktail in hand. Volume One – Short SciFi Movies by Oats Movies // Neill Blomkamp Collaboration

Neill Blomkamp sollte inzwischen ja bekannt sein für seine SciFi Kurzfilme. Auch sein erster Blockbuster „District 9“ basiert ursprünglich auf seinem Kurzfilm „Alive in Joburg„. In den letzten Monaten hat er zusammen mit Oats Studios drei neue, experimentielle Science Fiction Kurzfilme unter der Reihe „Volume One“ veröffentlicht. Dazu gehören „Rakka„, „Firebase“ und „Zygote„. Bisher sind alle Filme noch im Stream verfügbar:

„Mother’s Day“ ist ein Kurzfilm von Elizabeth Lo über einen jährlichen Bus Service, der es Kindern ermöglicht ihre Mütter im Gefängnis zu besuchen. Die Dokumentation zeigt Masseninhaftierungen und deren Folgen auf eine gesamte Generation. Storyboarder ist eine minimalistische Software um Stories zu visualisieren. Und auch wenn ich aktuell keinen wirklichen Bedarf habe – sieht nach einem wirklich nützlichem Tool aus und gibt’s kostenlos für Mac, Windows und Linux. Die Stories aus Storyboarder können übrigens auch einfach nach Photoshop. Premiere, Final Cut, Avid, PDF und animated GIF exportiert werden. Storyboarder makes it easy to visualize a story as fast you can draw stick figures. Quickly draw to test if a story idea works. Create and show animatics to others. Express your story idea without making a movie.
