Hier gibt es keine Entschuldigung mehr, dass Photoshop Tutorials oft zu lang oder kompliziert sind – alle Videos dauern maximal 1 Minute. Und auch wenn man als Anfänger die Tutorials oft pausieren muss, um die Schritte nachzuvollziehen, kommt man doch relativ schnell an coole Ergebnisse. Ausprobieren!

Weeknight Dinners // by Lois Bielefeld – inkl. Interview

Auf Lois Bielefeld bin ich vor allem durch ihre Foto-Serie „Weeknight Dinners“ aufmerksam geworden. Hier porträtiert sie verschiedenste Personen während eines typischen Abendessens an einem Werktag. Interessant ist es dabei vor allem zu beobachten wie unterschiedlich die Personen das tägliche Ritual zelebrieren und wie sie sich dabei ablichten lassen. The central motif in my work is the conceptual portrait, specifically portraits that capture the personal connections and human qualities we all share. My goal is to explore common rituals, habits, and spaces that nonetheless reveal individualistic details about our private selves. The focus of Weeknight Dinners is the typical evening meal, when food and space often become secondary to the busy workday. I photographed the portraits Monday through Thursday evenings when time constraints due to work, parenting, and family activities often dictate dinner rituals. There are 78 portraits within the series. I have predominantly photographed in the US and also re-photographed some of the same individuals from an earlier body of work, The Bedroom (2008-2012). In 2015, I spent ten weeks as an artist-in-resident in Bourglinster, Luxembourg where I made 16 dinner portraits of Luxembourg families. Gastaloops // A 100 days looping gif project by Nicola Gastaldi

Aus einer kleinen Idee wurde Gastaloops von Nicola Gastaldi zu einem 100 Tage Projekt, in welchem er jeden Tag ein neues animiertes Gif erstellte. Um sich dabei selbst herauszufordern gab es folgende Einschränkungen: Verwendung von drei Farben (weiß, rot und schwarz), maximal 50 Frames und ein perfekter Loop – die Ergebnisse sind dabei wirklich erstaunlich! 100 der Gif Loops wurden anschließend in dem Musikvideo „Out“ von IISO gefeatured (Vimeo Staff Pick 20th Feb 2017). In order to fuel the creativity, I wanted to limit myself. Limits always work great with my mindset: playing between boundaries makes me feel more comfortable and relaxes me. So, the limits are: 50 frames, 3 set colours, perfect loop. The last rule is not to have any rule about the tools used or the style created. Every gif could be done in a 3d program, in After Effects, Photoshop, hand drawn, shot, Houdini, Real Flow, particles or fluid simulations, whatever.
