In this hand drawn animation a line is being extrapolated through a grid. When the line surpasses the boundaries of the grid, the process spreads to and reflects on its surroundings. Beyond each boundary the extrapolation of movement is causing deformation in a systematic but speculative way. MENU ist eine expressionistische Fotoserie, die in Kollaboration mit dem Fotografen Robert Harrison und des Kochs Robbie Postma entstand. Die Fotoserie stellt dabei die unverarbeiteten Inhalte eines Menüs in den Fokus und serviert sie direkt in’s Gesicht. In their series of portraits, Robbie Postma (chef) and Robert Harrison (photographer) take the viewer back to the origin of a menu. Through visual imagination and culinary flair, they evoke every step of a fine dining experience, but rather than focusing of the final, finessed dishes, MENU makes the raw, unprocessed ingredients the heroes. Die Serie „Stephen King’s Stranger Love Songs“ des Brasilianers Butcher Billy ist ein Mashup der depressiven, hoffnungslosen, herzzerschmetternden Lovesongs der 70er und 80er mit Horror Buch-Covern im Stil von Stephen King. Das Ganze passt auf jeden Fall wie die Faust auf’s Auge! Überhaupt ist das gesamte bisherige Werk von Butcher Billy mindestens einen Blick wert. Kaum einer schafft es scheinbar problemlos so einen Mashup aus Popkultur, (Post-Punk) Musik-Ikonen und Comics auf so einer Metaebene zu vereinen. Ich hab sogar selbst seit ein paar Monaten ein Art-Print von ihm in meiner Wohnung, ohne dass mir das vorher aufgefallen wäre: Batman/Shadowplay. Um ehrlich zu sein würde ich mir am liebsten jedes Einzelne seiner Artworks einrahmen :) Sämtliche Werke können übrigens über Redbubble auf diversen Produkten wie Shirts, Poster, Taschen, Handyhüllen usw. bedruckt werden.
