Gastaloops // A 100 days looping gif project by Nicola Gastaldi

Aus einer kleinen Idee wurde Gastaloops von Nicola Gastaldi zu einem 100 Tage Projekt, in welchem er jeden Tag ein neues animiertes Gif erstellte. Um sich dabei selbst herauszufordern gab es folgende Einschränkungen: Verwendung von drei Farben (weiß, rot und schwarz), maximal 50 Frames und ein perfekter Loop – die Ergebnisse sind dabei wirklich erstaunlich! 100 der Gif Loops wurden anschließend in dem Musikvideo „Out“ von IISO gefeatured (Vimeo Staff Pick 20th Feb 2017). In order to fuel the creativity, I wanted to limit myself. Limits always work great with my mindset: playing between boundaries makes me feel more comfortable and relaxes me. So, the limits are: 50 frames, 3 set colours, perfect loop. The last rule is not to have any rule about the tools used or the style created. Every gif could be done in a 3d program, in After Effects, Photoshop, hand drawn, shot, Houdini, Real Flow, particles or fluid simulations, whatever. The client from hell // (Web)design Kunden im alltäglichen Leben

Das habe ich alles leider schon viel zu oft selbst erlebt – in der Kreativbranche aber immer noch oft Standard. Every designer knows that one client who wants them to do a lot of work for no pay (or for „exposure“). We took our hidden cameras to London to see how other businesses would react to some of the ridiculous requests designers have to deal with. Und weil’s gut zum Thema passt: Hier nochmal der Klassiker „Webdesign Kunden Im Alltäglichen Leben“ – kann ich sicherlich bei dem ein oder anderen Kunden gebrauchen: Als Webdesign Freelancer hab ich schon ’ne Menge mit Kunden erlebt, besonders wenn es darum geht über Preise oder Extra Arbeit zu verhandeln. Das gilt auch bei Graphikern, Photographen und anderen selbständigen Berufen. Hier einmal ein super geiles Video, wie es aussehen würden, wenn sich einige Kunden so im alltäglichen Leben verhalten würden. Ich hab mal zu dem Video deutschen Untertitel hinzugefügt.
